Rosa May Dixon, Owner & Chef
Rosa has spent more than of half her life involved in the culinary world, starting her first job and a life-long career in the kitchen at 15.
After studying the culinary arts, Rosa started the Natural Decadence catering business, specializing in high-end French pastries and desserts. When her young daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, Rosa reworked her recipes to fit the needs of those with serious dietary restrictions. When transitioning Natural Decadence to a gluten-free bakery, Rosa was passionate about creating delicious desserts without sacrificing her own sensibilities as a chef and passionate food lover. Rosa is committed to creating healthy alternatives for her community and family and is co-authoring her first cookbook. She is well known for her cooking classes with children and adults and has won awards in multiple competitions in Humboldt County.
Milia Lando, Owner & Director of Marketing & Sales
Milia has been a business owner in the health and wellness field for over a decade, specializing in massage therapy and Feng Shui. In 2011, health challenges made necessary for her to make serious changes to her diet.
It was a challenging transition, but it was during this time that Milia became inspired to create gluten, egg, dairy, and nut-free foods for herself and others seeking delicious foods on a limited diet.
Lifelong friends, Rosa and Milia founded Natural Decadence in October of 2011. It started with one flavor pie in one store. Just over a year later, there are now 16 different products, and three varieties of pies are now available in natural grocers throughout Northern California, including Whole Foods.
The brand continues to grow, filling a need for rich, delicious food for those who are both health and wellness conscious and those living with dietary restrictions.
